SEASON WRAP UP
To think this season started with a 47 yard touchdown run by Steven Jackson. Everything seemed to look good for once. Finally, our bad years were behind us as we were poised to bring the return of the Greatest Show on Turf. Sadly, the rest of the season happened. This may be one of the worst seasons I’ve dealt with as a Rams fan….and i’m talking the season with Linehan, Haslett. I’m talking 1-15, 2-14, 3-13 seasons….and this season was the worst. It’s just the expectations of becoming a legit team for the first time in a long time. I’ll admit, I saw the season schedule before, and it was tough. I didn’t expect us to go 10-6. Maybe 8-8. Yet I expected us to play hard each week….that wasn’t the case…
Our season went downhill early, we lost two key players in our first game. Danny Amendola and Ron Bartell. Amendola was our key WR, one of the most productive players in the NFL last season. Ron Bartell was our shutdown DB, one of the best in league. Both players lost on the first week. Our WR’s were never the same….our DB’s were never the same. We led the league in drops and our DB’s dropped like flies week after week.
The injuries didn’t stop there. We lost key offensive linemen, and eventually, it caught up to our QB Sam Bradford. With a weak o-line and poor WR group, Sam Bradford was the casualty of hit after hit. He got injured, missing a few games. Despite being injured, Bradford kept fighting for our team, volunteering to play last-second against Seattle in a rematch for the NFC West we lost a season before.
I don’t want to blame it all on injuries. I felt like every week we were unprepared. We continued to shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties. We still suck at scoring on offense. Defensively we were the worst defense in the league. It was pathetic. So with this finger, I point it at the coaching staff. Spags gotta go. McDaniels, though I liked the stretch plays with SJax, gotta go. The front office needs to go. I liked the Brandon Lloyd move, but i feel like this team needs to make bigger moves. It only takes a few moves to make a big impact, and we need to make those moves fast.
There are positives though. Greg Salas, our rookie receiver, was our leading WR and was improving week after week before a season ending injury. Kendricks had flashes of potential. Chris Long had a great year, and was snubbed from the Pro Bowl roster. Laurinaitis held it down like always. Darian Stewart was one of the few highlights in our secondary. Cadillac Williams was a great backup to a beat up Steven Jackson, who rushed for 1000k yds for his 7th straight season *cough*hall of famer*cough* . Brandon Lloyd was who we expected he’d be. Danario Alexander had some nice catches.
But man…what a terrible season. And the final blow is that the friggin’ Niners are doing good. You can’t have both. Rams suck and the Niners are doing well….I’d be okay if the Niners just flat out sucked it this season

Spags and the GM are leaving. McDaniels, however, needs more time.
